According to BERNAMA sources, BMW Malaysia Group plans to increase its annual production capacity by 2,00 to 3,000 units by 2018 from 8,000 units currently. BMW's Corporate Communications Head, Sashi Ambi, said the move was planned to cater for the expansion of the group's exports to Vietnam and Philippines through Malaysia over the next two years.
Meanwhile, BMW Malaysia Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Han Sang Yun said Malaysia would be an export hub for BMW 3, BMW 5 and BMW 7 variants to Vietnam and Philippines. The group is also confident of passing past sales of 9,350 unit across the entire model of various types of BMW, MINI including its motorcycles

According to BERNAMA sources, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd is confident of selling 12,000 car units by 2016, surpassing the record of 10,845 units last year. This is based on the positive growth achieved during the nine months of this year.
President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Claus Weidner said the company sold 9,047 units for the period January to September, where the is 10% increase from the same period for last year, driven by the launch of the new model
He stated that the C-Class model led the sales list with 3,733 units sold, representing a 90% leap over the period of nine months of 2015. A-Class remains the most popular compact model with 829 units sold, representing an increase of 21% from last year
Following the growing demand, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has increased local production and 6,426 vehicles has been produced in the first nine months of 2016. This is 15% increased from the same period last year. As of September, the company has recorded the highest volume of operations in history involving 79,917 vehicles throughout Malaysia, ip 18.1% from last year.
In addition to the car dealership business, Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (MBSM) which is an internal financing company also recorded a significant rise in its services portfolio by recording RM1.8 billion to date.
